Where to start... we met Sherry when my son was about 18 months old. A little background...my son was born with a cleft lip & palate. He had very few words and would just grunt or take us to things he wanted or needed. Sherry was wonderful. She worked so hard with him and he loved her so much. She would push him and he was up for the challenge. She knew so much. You see, my little guy had a lot of nasality and she asked me if we could have a modified barium swallow study done. I said, okay. During the study, they found out my son aspirated. I used to tell his doctor that he would cough every time he would drink something. He was in the hospital so many times and I was told it was just a virus. But the whole time, it was because of aspiration. Had we not had the study done, who knows what would have happened to my guy. Because of Sherry, we found this out. She is so compassionate about her work. My son is older now but he remembers her because she made an impact on his life. To this day, I talk to parents about how wonderful and blessed we were to have had her work with my son. She is a true blessing.

Ms. Sherry solved my son's extreme frustration. Before I sought help, I couldn’t understand what he was asking for. After one or two tries he would give up. It was breaking my heart to see my social 2 year old becoming withdrawn, all because of a few sounds. During our time with Sherry, he made significant improvement. After just a few sessions he was accepting and using feedback on his pronunciation. Life became much more enjoyable for my son. Sherry would bring books, toys, and puzzles as teaching tools. She included the whole family in the session and gave me lots of suggestions for working with my son during the week. At each visit she asked for details on my son's improvements and areas needing focus. My son was always happy to see Ms. Sherry and sad to see her go. At the end of our 6 months, my son was prepared to switch to a school setting for speech services. His new speech therapist complimented his ability to repeat and interact with her. She could tell he had been seeing a great professional. I recommend Ms. Sherry to other parents of small children!

Sherry started working with my son when he was two. Before our first therapy session I was a little nervous, wondering if there’d be a good connection with her and my son. But the first time we met her, I felt totally at ease and knew that everything would be ok. She had such a calm and peaceful approach, and was able to build trust with my son very quickly. She was very professional and very personable at the same time. My son wasn’t always the easiest to work with (well, what 2 year old is, right? Haha) but she always remained calm and gentle and was so natural at maintaining structure. Watching how she handled him when he was being difficult even helped me to become a better mom! She really made learning fun and my son looked forward to her coming every week. He would ask for her throughout the week and want “Ms. Sherry come home”. He would even get out his play phone and “call” her. When we first started speech therapy, my son basically didn't talk at all, and as he began talking it was very difficult to understand most of what he said. But now, a year later, his vocabulary has grown leaps and bounds and his articulation has steadily improved. My son just turned three and due to our coverage/benefits we have had to switch to a different therapist, but I’m so thankful for the progress that my son has made over the past year and for the difference that Sherry has made in our lives. She’s truly wonderful and undoubtedly has a God-given gift for what she does.

I would highly recommend Sherry O’Neal for speech therapy. We entered into the process very nervous about what was in store for our son. Sherry immediately clicked with us and became something we looked forward to every week. She was always careful not to over promise results, but she was reassuring at the same time. We have been extremely pleased with our son's progress since he started speech therapy with Sherry. She has really made attempts and was successful in working with him for the past 6 months. We saw a lot of changes in his speech as he started making 3-word sentences within just a few months. He was only saying single words before his speech therapy with Sherry. I can't say enough good things about her skill set in providing my son therapy. Sherry's calm and peaceful personality was great for my son. Our 5-year-old daughter is growing up in an environment where she can hear two languages and we've always felt that she was falling behind with both of them and especially with English. It was not just pronunciation of some sounds, but also expressing herself in a meaningful way. Our concerns started to grow as her lack of language abilities took a toll on her adaptation to the preschool environment which was, in one word, miserable.
After the first meeting with Ms. Sherry, all our anxieties were put to rest and with each successive meeting, we could feel the progress, not just in our daughter's language, but also her confidence and the way she approaches other people. After about three months, we had a parent-teacher conference at the preschool and the teacher just couldn't express how amazed she was with the transformation that our daughter was going through: from a kid that was struggling for a year to establish any communication in the classroom to a kid that they can talk with and even shush from time to time.
Our daughter is having such a great time with her, every time. Sometimes she even says that Ms. Sherry is her best friend. For her, it's all fun, but we know that she learns a lot while she is having that fun. Thank you, Ms. Sherry.
